One of the things I'm doing to prepare myself for this new chapter of motherhood is to come up with some sort of plan of action for school lunches. Thankfully Junior Kindergarten is only an every-other-day kind of a deal, so I get to work my way into making lunches.
My main concern with lunch planning is that I want Talia to eat healthy food, and to enjoy the food. It would also be cool if I could have fun packing the lunch... maybe even with her help sometimes.
I found two great Lunch Ideas Galleries- one from Easy Lunchboxes and this gallery on facebook, from Weelicious (it's great!)
When I first heard about the Easy Lunch Boxes system, I was impressed with the idea & excited to try it out. So, this week the package arrived & we are the new, proud owners of an Easy Lunchbox System! And I really do love it!
Granted school hasn't started (when this post goes up, it'll be Talia's FIRST DAY!), so we haven't used it for school yet, but I know it's going to be great! Here's why I love this system:
- The boxes are reusable & stackable for storage
- The lids to the boxes cover all of the compartments (so there's no leakage!)
- The boxes are sturdy & easy to open
- The boxes fit perfectly into the Easy Lunch Boxes lunchbag
- The boxes are microwave & freezer safe
- The bags have room for 2 boxes if you want, with room for an extra snack or drink
- The price is right!
Now, how are you doing with your plan for Back to School Lunch Boxes ?

I would like to win because I pack my kids lunch everyday and it's a huge struggle to find things for them to eat that they can take along with them. These little containers would make it so much easier to pack little things. Plus I'm going to go back to their website and get lots of lunch ideas because I'm already out and it's only the 2nd week of school!
ReplyDeletewww.makingmemorieswithyourkids.blogspot.com
These look so cool Heather I love that they have the containers as well. I was thinking of getting Brooke a Balanced Daily Lunch kit (I think that's what they are called), but I might have to think about this one.

ReplyDeleteSadly they are sold out on the website...happily I am going to win THESE ones!!!! Ya me!
Oh and I already follow...another ballet please...
ReplyDeleteum and I CANNOT believe baby Talia is going to school either!
Haha :) Hey Jenn, you're right- they sold out of the containers, but if you order & yours are on back order (until October), you get a free gift for your trouble! (a lunchbag).. Not bad!
ReplyDeleteLove that these are BPA free and do not have a million parts to keep track of. Would love to try them! juliejelly at gmail dot com.

ReplyDeleteHow Do I Clean the Lunchbag?
Remove odors from a lunch bag by placing inside, a plate w/a slice of bread that has been soaked in white distilled vinegar. Zip and leave overnight. Our reusable lunch bags can be wiped clean with a damp or soapy cloth, inside or out. Even put them in the washing machine (cold water/'delicates” soap/gentle cycle/air dry). They come out great!

ReplyDeleteI WANT TO WIN THIS FOR MY SON
i like this a lot because of the size of each compartment: one large enough for a sandwich, bagel or wrap; one for some kind of fruit or veggie and one for a little treat (whether it involves chocolate or not...) :)
ReplyDeleteand i like how it saves space both in the drawer/shelf and in the fridge/freezer.
plus, you gotta love the leftover dinner idea on their website because it makes storing it (and serving it if you're in a hurry) so much more convenient! like those freezer dinners at the store...only much better :)
and i subscribe to your blog :)
ReplyDeletewhy i want to win...
ReplyDeleteeven though my oldest isn't in school yet, he does eat a lot. and we go on outings a lot and to church every week.
instead of taking a whole bunch of little containers or plastic bags full of different types of snacks (because you have to be prepared for whatever he's in the mood for) it would be so much easier to have everything in a flat container that would fit easily in our already stuffed diaper bag, and so that he can open it himself - so independent!
so why do i want it? convenience, basically :) and so i can show everyone how "organized" i am, hehe :) looks can be deceiving...
and i like you on facebook.
ReplyDeletei like you outside of facebook too, but that won't give me another chance to win :)
hey heather - don't know if you can view my email address or not. sorry.

Well first, I learned that the container sets are SOLD OUT! They must be that good!I learned a lot about the plastic containers, but what I learned about the lunch bag was awesome....it's machine washable! How cool is that? I think it's really cool! Makes life that much easier.

ReplyDeleteI would like to win because the lunch boxes seem awesome to store lunches when out and about, but also to prep a lunch for home! I love that it has three separate compartments!!
ReplyDeleteI learned that the easylunchbox products contain no lead, vinyl, PVC, phthalates, or BPA. I also learned that they are currently sold out of the container sets!
ReplyDeletecthompson1477@gmail dot com
My favorite thing about them is the website with all the cute idea pictures of what to put in the lunches!
ReplyDeleteI also like that you can fit both containers in the same bag. One day at school Scott forgot which bag was for his first break and which bag was for his second break. And he pulled out the same bag twice and he didn't eat his lunch :( I think he was hungry too. He just thought I forgot to pack his second break. Poor Baby.
ReplyDeleteWait Wait Wait. I thought of something else. lastly I like that it will be fast for Scotty to eat. His teacher said not to be surprised when they don't eat much at the beginning of the school year because they only have 20 minutes to eat. I was thinking 20 minutes is a lot for Scott, then I see most of his lunch coming home every day. He always has to finish it up after school because he is still hungry. I think with all the different containers it takes him too long to eat. And it makes his backpack heavier. His backpack it heavy and all that is in it is his lunch. It's hard for the little guy to bring it to school. So yeah I really NEED it!!
ReplyDeletelove them. freezer safe and love the 3 compartments and my girls can open them with ease! i'm a follower too! tracy.parker458@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I like about these lunch systems is that each compartment is covered so their is no leakage from one compartment to the next.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of these before; but they are great. I love the 3 compartments, eco-friendly and I think it will make lunch for my grand-daughter more fun.
ReplyDeleteI learned that the lunchbox is not leak proof

Hi Heather Lynne, Here is what I plan to use mine for: I had weight loss surgery almost a year ago (down over 100 pounds, yay!). Anyway, I'm required to eat 5 or 6 small meals during the day. This set will be great in helping me plan for the time I'm away from home without having to lag around a dozen odd containers. All of the photos of lunches on your link were awesome too! Thanks so much,
