These Holly Wreaths are one of my favourite holiday treats to make because they remind me of when I was little. :) They're only slightly more work than Rice Krispie Squares which is a great bonus- and they're fun for kids to help with, too!
Corn Flake "Rice Krispies" Wreaths Recipe
How To Make Holly Wreath Cookies:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
30 large marshmallows
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. green liquid food coloring
4.5 cups corn flakes
red candies (crushed hard candies, or cut up chewy candies)
1. Mix butter & mallows over low heat, until melted.
2. Add vanilla & colour.
3. Add flakes, mix, & form into small, flat-ish balls.
4. Add red candies on top, to make your treats look like holly wreaths & you're done! :)
These are awesome!! The perfect compliment to a holiday dessert table!!
ReplyDeleteCan these be put in the freezer til Christmas time?
ReplyDeleteHi Sara, I have never tried freezing these but I just did a search online about freezing rice krispie squares (which are a similar idea to these) and found that they can be frozen, so maybe it would be fine! Here's the link I found with details: http://www.livestrong.com/article/552760-how-to-keep-marshmallow-krispie-treats-fresh-longer/
DeleteThank you. I did put them in the freezer and thank goodness I did.... they would have all been eaten if I didn't! Super yummy and cute! Thanks for sharing the recipe :)
